Camp Dixie
Residential coed summer camp Clayton, GA
Memorable and meaningful…Safe and happy…Strong and confidant… these are the adjectives used by generations of campers and parents who we define as our Dixie Family. Although large in scale, the campsite is over 300 acres nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Northeastern Georgia; in contrast, we choose to keep our enrollment small. For ninety-three consecutive summers Camp Dixie for Boys & Girls philosophy that smaller numbers of campers and excellent leadership ratios create the most successful environment for nurturing an adventuresome spirit.
Most often, the majority of our counselors have grown up through the program and are eager to pass on the Dixie Spirit to those coming behind them! Our alumnae stay actively involved. It is a pleasure to see generations in each family grow through our program.
At ninety-three, some changes have occurred. Modern bathhouses and a winterized Dining Hall have replaced memorable, earlier construction. Yet our alumnae are happy to see that the rustic, two-story cabins, filled with the fresh smell of the white pines that shade the cabin-line boardwalk are there to great them when they visit. We are fortunate to have a camping history steeped in cherished traditions. If a conservative camp with a keen awareness of our youth’s challenges in the 21st Century, is what you are seeking for your own camper, visit our website!
